Sharing is Caring: for one week, I recommend/share...
Day one - a song
Day two - a picture
Day three - a book/ebook/fanfic
Day four - a site
Day five - a youtube clip
Day six - a quote
Day seven - whatever tickles your fancy
I didn't really fail day two! You see, instead of posting one picture I'd been in the process of uploading a nice big spam-post of sorts full of pretty men in half-clothed poses when something happened and LJ ATE MY FRIGGEN POST! :O disheartened I threw my hands into the air with frustration and went to bed. And since I've been out all day today and am home only in time to do one small post, I'm afraid ya'll are just going to have to wait for the
manpwn "picture" post.
As for the book/ebook/fanfic I'll be reccing ya'll this evening, I thought I'd do one for each ;D because, as I've said, I don't like to do things by halves!
A Book: The Troy Trilogy by David Gemmell
- David Gemmell is my favourite writer, so maybe I'm a bit biased in reccing you his novels, but they're just too damn good not to share. The Troy Trilogy centers around, as I'm sure you've probably guessed by now, the story of Troy and how the Greeks brought about it's downfall. But more than that it's a story about love and loss and adventure and faith and the power to believe that you can achieve the impossible if you believe in yourself enough. It's about redemtion and betrayal and honour and glory. It's having characters so real you feel as though you can reach out and touch them through the pages, it's having a plot so thick and gripping you don't ever want to have to put the book(s) down. It's just.... GUH! It's perfect and touching and you can probably tell just how inlove with the whole thing I am? XD ...just read them! I promise you, you won't be disappointed in the slightest!
An EBook: ...okay, I was going to rec/upload an ebook too, but I realised I deleted most of mine having acquired the novels already. So um, no cigar I'm afraid!
A FanFic: Doesn't Matter by naimu [Dean/Castiel | R-Rated | Spoilers for 5.04]
- I read this one today before leaving the house and I won't lie to you, I was almost in tears by the end of it. It's set in the 5.04 verse and tells the story of how *that* Dean and Castiel ended up the way they were and my God. It broke me. In every sort of way. And I loved it to pieces for that. It's been a long time since a simple piece of fiction did that to me and it reminds me why I love reading fanfic.
...there you go, flist! Now be off with you! And when you return I want you all to have purchased/read all my recs. For serious! ;D
